Biggs Named Hat Tricks New Tier 1 AAA Youth Hockey Director
The Danbury Hat Tricks Tier 1 AAA Youth Hockey Program is proud to announce the appointment of Gary Biggs as its new Youth Hockey Director, a move that signals a strong commitment to long-term player development, advancement, and program growth.
Biggs brings over 15 years of elite hockey experience and a proven track record of advancing players at the Midget and Junior levels, with numerous athletes progressing to NCAA programs and NAHL, USHL and Major Junior Hockey. His leadership philosophy centers on building a development-first environment where players are given the tools, structure, and opportunity to reach their full potential.
“I’m extremely excited to join the Danbury Hattricks Youth Hockey Community and begin building a program that truly puts player development and advancement at the forefront,” said Biggs. “Our goal is to create a clear pathway for every athlete — one that emphasizes skill development, hockey IQ, and consistent growth both on and off the ice.”
Currently, Biggs serves as President of Hockey Operations for the Johnstown Tomahawks (NAHL) and as the Madison Capitols USHL Phase 2 Draft Director.
Prior to his time in Johnstown, Biggs spent 10 years as Director of Scouting for the New Jersey Titans (NAHL), helping build the Titans into a perennial contender and contributing to their historic achievement as the only East Division team in NAHL history to win the Robertson Cup.
In addition to his scouting and executive background, Biggs has extensive coaching experience at the Midget level. While with the New Jersey Titans and New Jersey Rockets, his teams consistently competed at a high level, missing the Atlantic District playoffs only once during his tenure.
Biggs’ approach to leadership is rooted in service and accountability.
“The coaches and staff are here to serve the players and families,” Biggs added. “By focusing on appropriate playing time, maximizing ice touches, and implementing a direct, individualized development plan for each player, success becomes achievable for every athlete in our program.”
With Biggs at the helm, the Danbury Hattricks look forward to continued growth, a unified development model, and the establishment of a clear pathway for players aspiring to reach the next level of hockey.
